Bijaya Shahi : A scam artist or next rain man

Just to give you some context, here is a sample clip that proves how fast our supposed speed reader/ memory grand master really is.

I really want this guy to be real. i want his words to be true, his ideas in action and his formulae on our textbooks. Who knows, i might just be that naive common man who wants his country to stand out, someone who is sick of being called a third world country guy, someone who want to  belong to the country where innovations and initiations are normal. But Memento mori, as they say in stoic philosophy. Nothing really matters,entropy is increasing and heat death is inevitable. The country i belong to, the religion i believe in, my ideologies, the action i take, thoughts i fiddle with are going to be lost. I might as well do something that might have some form of repercussion just for fun, albeit not a heavy one. I will juxtapose opposing series of viewpoints and present some evidences about our trending guy Bijaya Shahi. Its just a rant so Take this with a grain of salt

So is this guy really a scam artist? We will start with the assumption that this guy has speed reading capabilities, and exceptional comprehension; not a photographic memory. As of right now   I  watched one of Bhagya Neupane's video where he was featured and was asked to read some ayurvedic book with around 1000*900 words. He finished that it fifteen minutes.  He is reading at the speed of 1088 words per second, with a comprehension of 100%. No-one in this history, there has been a record of someone that capable.Even kim peek, guy with rare condition called savant syndrome could only read single page a second with 98% comprehension rate. He would have taken around 16 minutes and might have forgotten around 2% of the text.  Kim peek did not have any formulae. He just had a subset of savant syndrome called FG syndrome, a rare chromosome linked genetic disorder that causes someone to have large cerebral capacity. He did not figure out later down his life. He was just born that way and by the way, he was autistic. Here is kim peek

And his so called world record title, which he won by memorizing around 70 words in a minute doesn't even shine a beam to what he is capable of. With that context Lets talk about authenticity of champion book of world records. The very organization that tested and verified his abilities. Click the link. Its the promotion/announcement for the achievement our Bijay shahi has done. I am serious, open a new tab with that link and Look at the venue; why kathmandu when it can be khat-man-du. How can i take a organization seriously, when they don't even name their venue correct. Looking at their site i even doubt the method with which he was tested. Who knows he might have memorized a list of similar sounding nonsense words like aa, ab , ac , ad and so on. It's not Guinness record, its champion book of world record.

His claims about our system inferiority resonates with us Nepalese. Maybe that is the reason he has been loved by Nepalese community. i also love the fact that he wants the situation of our education system to change but healthy level of skepticism is one of the element of effective thinking so  I watched some of the non trending videos that debunk his abilities. Those videos are generally skeptic about his formulae and his absurd hatatatata chanting. i guess many of them did not like the video so most of their comment section are turned off and the on ones are filled with hate and contempt for the contrarian.

But the question raises, if he has no talent then why would he keep on doing such publicity stunts. He must have some sort of talent, right? Some form of mnemonic technique, speed reading technique. These are the techniques that can be learnt and no gene editing would be required Dr. Yogi Vikashananda three part series book called superlearning has some real techniques to enhance learning. Maybe he read it and modified to some extent and created his own new technique.who knows he might be first one to read litemind blogs(blog site that has posts related to increasing memory efficiency through various means). If that is not the case then god himself might have molded his brain during his sleep for increased comprehension and speed. I just want to finish by saying that The paragraph about stoicism doesn't make sense. I just plugged in because i thought it would be cool. Lets just hope that this guy is not around me when i am scratching my recharge card, or not in trending when my results are near.
